AI search visibility · Answer Engine Optimisation

Make your business a clearer source for AI answers.

Jenlu helps UK businesses check whether important pages can be found, understood and trusted when people ask search engines and AI assistants for advice. We start with the questions your customers ask and the evidence your website can actually provide.

A direct answer

What is AEO, and does it replace SEO?

AEO means Answer Engine Optimisation. It is a useful name for work that helps a website answer real questions clearly and become a credible source for AI-generated answers. For Google, the foundations are still SEO: pages need to be discoverable, eligible to appear in Search and useful to people. ChatGPT search also needs access to crawlable public content. Neither system guarantees a mention or citation.

Jenlu's view is that the best starting point is a business question, not a new acronym. If your service page cannot explain what you do, who it helps, important limits and what happens next, another file or extra markup will not solve that communication problem.

Where to focus

When is an AEO review useful?

It is most useful when a business already has a service people ask about, but its website leaves the answer scattered, vague or hard to verify.

The answer is buried

Customers cannot see the decision

A page lists capabilities but does not say who the service suits, what is included, what is excluded or how to start. Jenlu can make the main answer clear before expanding the detail.

The source is uncertain

Claims need evidence

Dates, prices, locations, qualifications or results may be inconsistent across pages and profiles. We identify what can be supported and where proof or owner approval is needed.

The route is fragile

Useful pages are hard to reach

Indexing barriers, weak internal links, duplicate pages or blocked crawlers can stop a useful answer being considered. These need the same disciplined technical checks as conventional SEO.

The working route

What would Jenlu actually do?

We join content judgement to technical checks, then prioritise the changes that help a person make a better decision.

01 · Establish a baseline

Check access and important questions

Choose the services and buyer questions that matter. Review whether relevant pages are crawlable, indexed where applicable, linked internally and eligible to show useful text. Check the public business details that support the answer.

02 · Improve the source

Write answers worth using

Clarify the opening answer, structure the supporting detail, distinguish facts from Jenlu's or your organisation's judgement, and connect claims to current evidence. Use schema only when it reflects visible content.

03 · Measure and adjust

Watch meaningful outcomes

Record a dated baseline for important pages and questions. Where available, review Search Console, identifiable AI referrals and qualified enquiries. Recheck the source when services, prices or platform guidance change.

A scoped first step

An improvement plan you can act on.

A Jenlu review identifies the pages and questions to prioritise, the technical or evidence gaps that matter, and the first edits worth making. We explain which changes Jenlu can implement and agree scope and cost before paid work begins.

The work can sit alongside technical SEO, analytics support or a broader website rebuild when the structure itself is the constraint.

Common questions about AEO

Can Jenlu guarantee that ChatGPT or Google will recommend us?

No. We can improve access, clarity, evidence and measurement. Each system decides which sources to use for a particular question, and that can change.

Do we need a separate AEO campaign?

Often the first useful work is on existing service pages and search foundations. A separate review is worthwhile when you need to identify the highest-value questions, prioritise changes and establish a baseline.

Will an llms.txt file or special schema make us appear?

No file or markup guarantees inclusion. Google says it does not use llms.txt or special AI markup for its Search features. Structured data should match the content people can see.

How would we judge progress?

Track the affected pages, the exact questions checked, identifiable visits and useful enquiries over time. Treat an isolated AI answer as an observation, not a permanent ranking.
