Google announced dedicated Search Console performance reports for generative AI features in June. The reports are being rolled out to a subset of websites and are designed to show how often a site’s URLs appear in AI features in Search and Discover.
The new view includes impressions, the pages that appeared, country-level visibility and, for Search results, device information. It can also be viewed over time. That does not turn AI visibility into a single number to chase, but it does give businesses a more grounded way to ask which useful pages are being surfaced and where.
The most useful reporting starts with a dependable baseline: pages, enquiries and visibility should be understandable before any new search channel is treated as a success.
What to do with the new data
- Check which established pages appear, rather than creating content simply to target a label.
- Compare trends with enquiries, conversions and the wider Search Console performance view.
- Use country and device data to spot whether a practical content or user-experience review is warranted.
Google’s accompanying guidance is clear that the foundations still matter: valuable, original content and solid SEO practices remain central. For a business website, that means clear service pages, useful supporting information, technically sound templates and measurement that is tied back to commercial outcomes.
Jenlu angle: better reporting is valuable when it helps a business decide what to improve next. A sensible analytics setup makes that conversation more useful, whether visibility comes from conventional results or newer AI features.
